Problems viewing this email - View in your browser

Hi and welcome to the DPC Newsletter for December 2017.

All the courses have now finished for 2017 and we start our Beginners Courses on Saturday 13th January 2018. For the first quarter I'm also be running a trial of the new Light Painting Course plus Night, Intermediate and Creative Lighting Courses.

I’m also looking at running a mid-week “Seeing the Picture Course” and Advanced Lightroom Course.
There is also likely to be a midweek 221 Portrait Course. If you are interested in any of these or any others courses then please drop me an email.

The December Project is "Turkey or Tinsel"

'Tis the season of Turkey or Tinsel so the December project is food or decorations with a festive twist. I'm hoping that this will produce some December images for the 2018 Calendar. Remember to post your images to the Facebook Group but alo the 52 Week Project.

New - Light Painting Course - Sun 28th January 2018

This might be a one off course so I'm going to trial it first with just three or four students. Like the Night Course this will be a 2pm start and finish about 9pm. We will spend the afternoon looking at the best techniques and I'll also show you how to make your own Light Paintings tools for very little cost.

Rob Bent has also made some very good Light Sticks of various designs. Contact him through FB for details.

I don't have a dedicated page for this course as yet so please book on the Night Course page

Light Painting

The Night Photography Course will be on Sunday 11th February. This very popular course will show you how to take pictures at night without using your flash. The course starts at 2pm and ends about 9pm. It includes a light supper. Your own tripod would be helpful but we do have a couple of spares.

The course includes: portraits by candle light, buildings at night, car light trails, writing with light, painting with light, the northern lights and lightning plus some trick photography.

Weather permitting, we should also be able to photograph the moon and maybe even some stars.

Creative Lighting Course Sun 11th March 2018

This is a great fun course where we take pictures of water droplets, peppers splashing into water, smoke trails and any other silliness we can think of on the day.

We also show you how to use other light sources, like candles, torches and Christmas Lights, to create bokeh effects. It's the ideal course if you would like to know how to use your shiny new flashgun or just fancy some nice pictures for your kitchen wall.

A flash extension cable or remote release for your flashgun is very useful for this course and you will also require a tripod but we do keep a couple of spares.

We hope you have enjoyed this newsletter.
